CERTIFICATE LEVEL

The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is the entry route into the CIMA Professional Qualification. This level will help students with little or no accounting experience unleash their true business potential. Teaching core business and finance skills beyond simple financial accounting, Cert BA syllabus is the perfect stepping stone towards a career in business and finance.

OPERATIONAL LEVEL

The Operational level focuses on the short term and the implementation of decisions. Candidates will be able to work with others in the organisation and use appropriate data and technology to translate medium term decisions into short term actionable plans. After successfully completing this level, students will receive the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Dip MA).

MANAGEMENT LEVEL

The Management level focuses on translating long term decisions into medium term plans. Candidates will be able to use data and relevant technology to manage organisational and individual performance, allocate resources to implement decisions; monitor and report implementation of decisions; as well as prepare and interpret financial statements to show performance. On completion, you receive the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting (CIMA Adv Dip MA).

STRATEGIC LEVEL

The Strategic level focuses on long term strategic decision making. Candidates will be able to support organisational leaders to craft strategy; evaluate and manage risks that might prevent organisations from successfully implementing strategy; value organisations; and source financial resources required to implement of strategy. On successful completion of the practical experience requirements, students will be admitted to associate membership and granted the associate chartered management accountant (ACMA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designations.

OUR LEAD LECTURER

CHANNA GUNAWARADANA

Channa Gunawardana, serving as the CEO of a public listed company in Sri Lanka, is a fellow member of CIMA UK and CA Sri Lanka. He is possessing a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Financial Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. Furthermore, he is currently reading for his PhD at the Management and Science University, Malaysia. With 21 years of lecturing experience, he has been known as the CIMA case study specialist as he has produced over 95% of the CIMA Sri Lankan prize winners including global prize winners during last decade. Currently he is a member of CIMA Global Council as well.
